UES: Coming and Going

Coming (Welcome)
UES has a ton of grocery and food shops... and we have a few more coming our way.

Park East Kosher is opening another location, at 90th and First Avenue.  This is their second UES location, the first at 2nd Ave. and 85th.  While this may not seem that exciting, it's fairly modern in it's sensibilities: note the modern looking logo design.  Additionally, the only sell Kosher items, which is obviously important for Jewish readers, but also important for those who have additional dietary restrictions... they even have a gluten-free section!

Bigoi Venezia is opening a 'new concept of Gourmet Italian Food to Go' (not sure about the capitalization structure there, but... I'm quoting), opening soon on 2nd Avenue and 74th Street.  It seems like this is the first American outpost of an Italian chain, seemingly mix + march pasta and sauce.  People seem to like it.

Goings (bye, Felicia)
It has been a tough couple of months for UES bars (and thus, for we the drinkers).

East Harlem/UES wine bar ABV has closed.  This was a popular spot that had very positive reviews (on Yelp, the Infatuation, NYT) and was generally seen as a neighborhood staple.  I'll update if anyone replies to my query as to why the shutter.

The Gilroy was a well lauded cocktail bar that opened in April 2014.  They had a menu of Negroni riffs.  Located at 81st and 2nd Avenue, it was a much appreciated addition to the neighborhood.  They closed at the end of March after being seized by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
